Since 1990 Officina Meccanica La Prometec has been working on engineering structures and components for industrial building, focusing the attention on formworks, bridge travelling cranes and metal working. The Company is specialized on designing, building and assembling prefabricated steel structures for industrial, commercial and civil purposes.

Thanks to the managerial policy applied by the Chief Executive, mister Francesco Pappalardo, the proven experience of the technical team and qualified welding operators, the company achieved very high quality standards in a short time.

Since 2002 The Company have been co-operated with the Department of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Catania to support research and development activities and house students’ stages.

Since 2005 a massive investment program have been carried out, allowing the company to provide brand new welding, oxygen cutting and painting machineries.

The company has two plants. The first, in Misterbianco town (close to Catania, Sicily, Italy), covers a 7.000 m2 surface, 2.300 m2 partially covered by sheds and then used for squares and gardens. The second plant has the same surface extension and is located in Catania.

The personnel is composed by 50 high qualified employees distributed within administrative, designing and building areas to properly manage both job orders and mass productions.

The quality management system of the “Officina Meccanica La Prometec” accomplishes the standard UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 (ISO 9001:2000); the Company is also qualified for the execution of public works, according to the Italian law, in the categories OS18 (forms) and OS31 (bridge travelling crane).
